Astonishing! Sitting in my little office room on the first day, catching up with the usual torrent of emails, what do I hear? Outside my window there is a heavenly sound, rising and falling in sweet harmony. The tranquil calm of the grassy quadrangle in front of our apartment has been transformed by the Dominican choir rehearsing on the lawn, just a few metres away. This is repeated daily: at 11am prompt, my world is filled with beautiful voices. I pause from my work to listen... Breath-taking.
